During the early visual development phase of Disney’s "Artemis Fowl", Max Kostenko as creature designer collaborated with the world-renowned VFX studio MPC (Moving Picture Company). Under the direction of the legendary Ravi Bansal, Max was tasked with the critical role of translating the magical beings from Eoin Colfer’s beloved book series into a ground-breaking cinematic reality.

Working at the foundational stage of the project, Max Kostenko focused on the high-level ideation of the film's fantastical inhabitants, including the Fairies and Goblins of the Lower Elements. Max’s contribution involved balancing high-tech elements with ancient magical aesthetics, a key visual pillar that defined the film’s unique world-building before it moved into full-scale production.

Gremlins are very short creatures, and are often found at a place of work. They are usually about 21 in tall and have big yellow eyes, green skin and a mane of fur or hair around their head. Gremlins also have small, pointy ears.

Trolls are about 9–12 ft in height and are as thick as a gorilla. Their skin is filled with fatty tissue thick enough to withstand several shots from a handgun. Trolls have two curved, serrated tusks.
